Director of Centre for efficient transport spoke with the magazine Železničář published by the Czech raillways. Petr Šlegr pointed out discriminatory conditions for the railway transport in the Czech republic, e.g. fuel tax exemption for inland water transport. Next Šlegr remarked a good approach of Switzerland to reduction of freight road transport, the goal Europen union is still not successfull (because of pro-truck positions of several member states…). Šlegr also positively commented decision of transport minister Barta to stop displacement of Brno main railway station. According to Šlegr the project was very badly designed and would cause traffic problems because of signifficant capacity limitation. A new goal should be modernisation of current main railway station on the position within the city centre.
